When asked about her favourite part of the role, Vickie shared, “When I see I’ve made a positive difference to the residents and helped them in any way. I love having a laugh and joke with them and brightening up their day.”
Beechwood Park Care Home is proudly celebrating Nurse Vickie for 20 years of dedicated service. Vickie’s passion for helping others began at a young age, inspiring her to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She attended Stirling University, where she completed various hospital placements before earning her diploma and bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her advice to young people considering a career in care is:
It’s so rewarding and enjoyable, but you have to be prepared to work hard. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s so important! I’ve always wanted to help people, and I’m so happy to be in this role.
Carmina recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone - her 40-year anniversary at Coxhill Manor. Her dedication and warm hospitality have made her an integral part of the home’s daily life, brightening the lives of everyone around her with her constant positivity. At 82 years old, Carmina continues to work with the same energy and care she has always shown. Whether serving teas and coffees, tending to residents’ laundry, or simply sharing a
kind word, she never fails to put smiles on faces. Her patience and cheerful nature make her a true inspiration to all. To honour Carmina’s Southern Italian heritage, the hospitality team hosted a special Italian- themed party. Residents passed a microphone around, sharing heartfelt messages of appreciation. Resident Rob expressed, “You make the best cup of tea in the country and always make sure you have the biscuits I can eat!”
Carmina’s 40 years of service are a testament to her kindness and unwavering commitment. She is not only a beloved member of the Coxhill Manor team but also a cornerstone of the home and its community.
