FUNDRAISING FUN Comic Relief is a fantastic cause that unites people in raising money for those in need, and Oak Manor was excited to take part in this year’s Red Nose Day fundraising. Residents and team members came together for a fun-filled day of activities, all in support of the charity.
Wellbeing Coordinators Kat and Paula, along with Receptionist Polly, did an excellent job organising the event. Head Chef Aleksandra baked a delicious Red Nose Day cake, which was as beautifully decorated as it was tasty. Everyone had a great time trying on silly wigs and enjoying Comic Relief-themed puzzles and games.
joined in the afternoon by the lovely Julia from Musical Moments, whose music always brings joy, and everyone wrapped up the day with a bake sale that proved to be a huge hit! Lifestyle Lead Giovanna commented, “It was a true joy to be a part of the family celebrations this Mother’s Day and wonderful to be able to treat all the amazing mums on their special day!”
Afternoon Tea delights Steep House honoured the wonderful mothers in their community with a heartfelt celebration, bringing families together for a special day dedicated to them. The event was a beautiful opportunity to show appreciation and create lasting memories. The afternoon was made extra special with a delightful afternoon tea, where residents enjoyed a selection of delicious treats, beautifully prepared for the occasion by the fantastic hospitality team. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy as families shared stories, reminisced, and expressed their appreciation for the important maternal figures in their lives.

In the lead-up to the day, residents channelled their creativity into decorating the home, adding their own personal touch to the celebrations, and talented Chef, Margaret, prepared a tasty spread of cakes and sweet treats.
Residents spent a lovely afternoon with their children and grandchildren, chatting, laughing, and tucking into Margaret’s delicious baking, and to top off a great day, Nurses Trixia and Bella treated the ladies to some well-deserved pampering, painting their nails and making them look fabulous!
